Ways to Lose Belly Fat and Get the Flat Stomach You Want

Losing belly fat has become a very hard task for many individuals. Most of the time, however, they are trying to fix the issue the wrong way, or with the wrong mindset. An example of this, is specific fat reduction, where some individuals believe crunches will instantly burn fat, and only burn fat, around the abdominal region. This is quite wrong, and what I am about to tell you, is quite proven and will help you meet your fitness goals.

To lose belly fat, you must consume less calories than your calories burns. That being said, if you eat 2000 calories a day, and you burn off 1900 calories, then you are gaining 100 calories of fat, per day. It is believed that 3000 – 3500 calories is equivalent to 1 pound of fat, so by eating 100 calories extra a day, you would be gaining a pound of fat almost every month. That is quite scary to think about. However, if you eat 1900 calories a day, and burn 2000 calories a day, you are losing fat. In about a month, you will weigh a pound less. Obviously a pound a month isn’t great for those that want quick results, so let us go over some quicker ways, that are still healthy, to lose the abdominal fat.

Cardio is a great way to help burn calories, and by burning calories, burn fat off. However, do not go out and run for tens of miles a day, because that will not help your overall goal. To lose belly fat the right way, you should stick to around 30minutes to an hour of cardio 5 days a week. 30 minutes sounds quite reasonable, and eventually, it becomes easier to stick with.

Performing sprints and “anaerobic” cardio is one of the best ways to keep your metabolism up while you diet. When you diet, your body realizes that it is losing fat stores, and being to panic. In this panic, it starts slowing down your metabolism to help the body hold on to fat. Obviously, we do not want that to happen, so performing sprints or “quick” cardio is quite helpful. After anaerobic exercise your metabolism can be increased for 72 hours! That is a great way to lose weight!

Strength Training. Strength training, like body weight exercises or weight lifting exercises, are another great anaerobic activity you can do to keep your metabolism up while you diet, and it will keep your body tone. One of the biggest mistakes dieters make is that they only do cardio, burn off muscle, and then walk around in a “skinny fat” body, which is a lose, but skinny, body. You don’t want that, so strength training is the way to go.
