“Green Aloe” Smoothie

You may only know Aloe Vera for the wonders that it does for our skin. However, Aloe Vera is filled with beneficial nutrients. For this recipe we are using unsweetened Aloe Vera Juice. If you’ve ever tasted unsweetened Aloe Vera Juice then you know that it has a very strong flavor. However, within a Smoothie, it’s Simply INCREDIBLE!!!

“Vitaminas Verdes” Smoothie

2 – Cups of Leite De Soja (Soy Milk)
1 – Abacate (Avocado)
1 – Cup of Espinafre (Spinach)

*Less than 133 calories per cup
*Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute
*Yields about 3.5 cups

The Green Regimen’s “Sweet Potato” recipes

BAKED SWEET POTATOES
6 unpeeled medium sweet potatoes (longer recipe but better tasting)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Rinse the sweet potatoes under water to wash off dirt. (See Green Regimen’s Video on “How to wash your Fruits and Vegetables”) Place the sweet potatoes on the lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly. Place in oven on the middle rack for 90 minutes. Times may vary depending on the size of your potatoes. Let cool until warm to the touch. Peel the skin off the potatoes and place into a large mixing bowl. The skin should peel off easily if they are fully cooked. Use a potato masher to mash the sweet potatoes until the consistency is smooth without any lumps remaining. The sweet potatoes can keep in the freezer for up to 10 months when stored in a heavy duty freezer bag.

BOILED SWEET POTATOES (quicker recipe)
2 unpeeled medium sweet potatoes
Rinse the sweet potatoes under water to wash off dirt. (See Green Regimen’s Video on “How to wash your Fruits and Vegetables”) Peel the skin off of each potato. Cut into bite size cubes. Boil in a medium sized pot, half filled with water. Place cubed sweet potatoes into the pot. Cover the pot and cook for 25-30 minutes. Drain into colander, rinse with cold water and let cool down. Since the cubes are bite size, you can use it directly in your smoothie recipe as is. Store the remainder in the freezer for future use.
